Community Publications
Few items will do more to raise community awareness and keep the
community and its activities in the forefront than a publication. A publication gives
your community "a face" and serves as a tangible reminder of the community's existence
and the involvement of its members.
Publication formats and types vary widely. A few examples are:
Print Publication - A hard copy magazine informs and educates members
on community-related topics and interests. Magazine content can include feature articles
that provide in-depth analysis of a given topic and regular columns from industry
experts. Publishing frequency: 4-6 times per year.
E-Newsletter - An email publication, with links to web pages, is
an excellent source of timely information for community members. Content differs from
the in-depth treatment in magazines, and focuses more on news items, practical advice
and how-to articles, special offers and announcements. Publishing frequency: 6-12 times
per year.
Bulletin - Instant, email-based dissemination of important news
or offers of interest to community members. Bulletins generally are reserved for special
items that call for members' immediate attention or action. Frequency: As needed.
